Hearst, which owns the publication, will launch 15 of these lounges across the country, starting next year from Delhi.
Hearst, publisher of men’s lifestyle magazine Esquire, has partnered with Franchise India Holdings Ltd, Asia’s largest integrated franchise solutions company, to launch 15 premium whiskey and cigar lounges in India’s major cities. The latter plans to invest $4-5 million over the next few years.
The lounges will mark the India debut of Esquire magazine, which doesn’t have an edition specifically for the country yet. This is also the first global FnB venture for Esquire.
The first Esquire lounge is scheduled to open doors early next year, in central Delhi, and will be followed by 14 more lounges in other major cities. “Modern Delhites are looking for stylish venues to meet friends and colleagues,” said Gaurav Marya, Chairman, Franchise India Holdings Ltd. He further adds that the lounges will embody the brand’s characteristic style, thus making them irresistible to the urbane and culturally savvy Indian community.
Hearst, which acquired Esquire in 1986, also own many other famous publications, including Cosmopolitan, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar.
