Mumbai’s favourite, Arth wows Pune

Sidharth Malhotra, Nushrat Bharucha and Bruna Abdullah added glamour to the glitzy opening party of Pune’s plush, new restaurant

Arth, from the stable of Kyta Hospitality Pvt Ltd, is a gas-free restaurant, which means that it uses no kind of gas for cooking, but advocates the old, Indian technique of cooking on chuallah and sigree. At the opening, on June 6, Chef Amninder Sandhu, served her guests Siddharth Malhotra, Sushant Singh Rajput, Bruna Abdullah, Nushrat Bharucha and Dino Morea, slow-cooked Kurkuri Arbi, Prawn Smoked, Yogurt Clouds and Chicken Makhmali, characterized by rustic flavors.

Ace mixologist Jeet Rana got the party grooving with drinks that offered several playful surprises. Arth Julep has the distinct flavor of mukhwas and saffron, making it a perfect digestion, Himalayan Madhpey is a toast to Himalayan culture and is a combination of gin with bitter aperitif and turmeric oleo sacchrarum and the Panchgani’s Sour is an innovative twist to the Clover’s Club. The addition of vermouth and tequila is inspired by the soil and weather of the hill station.

The glitter and pomp

Gauri Khan’s designed 7,000-sq-ft space in Pune’s Westin is highlighted by opulent floor-to-ceiling doors, large windows and glass lamps. Beautiful marble inlay flooring with circular motifs in black and white, columns clad in classic and modern hard bound books, beautiful light fixtures and crystal chandeliers add to the dramatic interiors.
