Dine with Omar Allibhoy, top Spanish chef known as the ‘Antonio Banderas of cooking’

The founder of UK’s Tapas Revolution chain will be whipping up a fiesta in collaboration with sommelier Nikhil Agarwal’s All Things Nice in Mumbai and Delhi

 

UK’s favourite Spanish chef, author of two cookbooks and founder of seven Tapas Revolution restaurants, Omar Allibhoy is going to create two contemporary 8- course tapas-style dinner menus in Mumbai and Delhi on 7 and 9 June, respectively, in association with sommelier Nikhil Agarwal’s All Things Nice, along with Qatar Airways (Mumbai), BMW Deutsche Motoren (Delhi) and BlackBook’s luxury-lifestyle sister publication, Eat Stay Love.

Mumbai: 7 June, JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu 

For the Mumbai edition of The Omar Allibhoy Dinner, Chef Allibhoy will team up with JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu’s Executive Chef Vishal Atreya to create an appetising eight-course dinner menu paired with a fine selection of wines from France, Argentina, and Cognac, curated by Agarwal.

The menu will feature tempting and tangy Spanish dishes, such as Ensalada De Trufa Y Manzana (a delightful combination of Frisee lettuce, apple, quince jelly, walnuts and oil); Seafood Black Rice cooked with Squid Ink and served with Aioli; and Fried Octopus leg served with mash potatoes, smoked paprika and olive oil. The courses have been paired with wines by Mythic Mountain, Chateau Timberlay and Robert Giraud.  To wash it all down, the guests will be treated to a service of Remy Martin VSOP Cognac with Creama Catalana.

Delhi: 9 June, Pullman New Delhi Aerocity 

The Delhi edition of The Omar Allibhoy Dinner will be hosted at the plush Pullman Aerocity New Delhi. Here, the luxury business hotel’s Executive Chef Ajay Anand and Chef Allibhoy will create another sumptuous eight-course tapas menu. Chicory Endives with a Blue Cheese Foam, Thinly Sliced Cured Cod Loin served with Avocado puree and Mango vinaigrette; and Iberian Acorn-fed Ham will be the star dishes. The wines that will complement these luscious andishes are from the house of Mythic Mountain, Robert Giraud, Valdivieso, Rioja Sierra and Grover Zampa Vineyards. The end of the meal with be marked with a special service of Remy Martin VSOP Cognac with Creama Catalana.
